Course Information
Bringing in the Heat
Price: $313.00
Summary
With basic skills behind us and an ability to create metal jewelry, we move on to joining metals with heat and cold connections with rivets. Students will explore, practice, and develop a love for joining metals with solder and heat. In level 1, the torch was introduced to teach the students how to use heat to soften the metal for forming. In level 2, we expand our skills to joining metals together to create a form and design. How to purchase materials will be part of the lessons of the class, and students will purchase their own materials as part of the learning process. The projects in this class are wire bangles, chain bracelets, spinner rings, earrings, and pendants with or without prong set stones. The student will be working with wire and sheet metal, copper or silver, patina or not to patina. The projects are chosen to help develop the skills being taught. This trilogy would make a great gift. Max students is 6, so register early. Note: Any metals beyond copper will be the responsibility of the student. A resource will be provided prior to class. This will be communicated to your HCC email address. Please wear closed-toe shoes and pull your long hair back.
