Watercolor: Intermediate

Continue your exploration of watercolor!  This class will cover watercolor techniques such as glazing, negative painting, and painting textures. Basic knowledge of watercolor painting is necessary.

Paint

Bring what you have, but please have at least 3 shades of each - yellow, red, blue:

Suggested color options:

Yellow - Hansa Yellow, Lemon yellow, Winsor Yellow, Aureolin, Cadmium yellow

Blue - Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue

Red - Winsor Red, Quin. Red, Scarlet Lake, Vermilion, Carmine

Payne’s Gray or Indigo

Burnt Sienna

Watercolor brushes - synthetic, blend, or natural hair

#8 round

#6 round

3/4” flat

Palette

Preferably one with wells and large mixing area(s)

Miscellaneous

2 containers for water & brush cleaning - Cool Whip containers work well

Paper towels - Viva brand or one with NO quilted pattern or print

Kneaded eraser

Note paper and #2 pencil or #B art pencil

Masking tape - 1/2” or wider

Ruler

Fine misting water bottle - Windex bottles work well or liquid hair spray bottles

Wood board or Gator board - approximately 11x16
