Soul Stitch: Autobiographical Art Embroidery & Collage

Guided by fiber artist Elizabeth Garlington and open to all skill levels, this beginner‑friendly reflective class explores stitched fabric collage as personal storytelling. Students will learn basic embroidery stitches and lettering with thread and yarn and will incorporate meaningful words, journal excerpts, and favorite fabrics into an expressive textile artwork. Emphasizing intuition, healing, and connection, the course encourages a sustainable, meditative art-making practice rooted in practice and instructional support.

Supplies for you to gather: Preloved clothing, vintage scraps, laces, and embellishments such as buttons, beads, and favorite small ephemera/materials. This can include old tablecloths, sheets, trims, and laces as well as preloved clothing. Embroidery hoops, threads, foundation fabrics, and needles will be provided.
