Junk Journaling

Junk journaling is a fun, expressive, and eco-friendly way to create meaningful art from everyday materials. In this hands-on course, students will create their own personal junk journals using found papers, old book pages, packaging, tags, envelopes, and other “junk” ephemera. Whether you're a seasoned artist, a crafty hobbyist, or someone just looking for a creative outlet, this class offers space to explore visual storytelling through layered textures and mixed media.

Junk journaling combines the spontaneity of collage with the reflection of journaling. Students will learn how design and embellish their journals while experimenting with creative techniques like stamping, printmaking, stenciling, and decorative layering. No art experience is required—just a love of paper, curiosity, and a playful spirit!
