Intro to Metal Smithing
Price: $199.25
Summary
This 8-week level 1 beginning course introduces you to the world of metalsmithing. Students will begin learning and using skills for basic tool usage; light torchwork (annealing), hammering (texturing), piercing (sawing), shaping, coloring with patinas, Roller Mill texturing, and more. We will experiment with different metals such as copper, silver, and titanium. This class is designed for beginning students and students who have some experience yet want to fine tune their skills. The class projects will not only help develop skills but will be fun for yourself to wear or will make fabulous gifts you will be proud to give: pendant, earrings, cuff, ring, tab set pendant with stone. You may have time to make multiple projects. This trilogy would make a great gift. The class is capped at six so register early. |
Note: Any metals beyond copper will be the responsibility of the student. A resource guide will be provided prior to class, which will be communicated via your HCC email address. Please wear closed toe shoes and pull long hair back. |
