This synchronous ONLINE course is designed for individuals familiar with the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. Construction Estimating can help increase your understanding of the many components and processes involved in construction—so you’re better able to compile the data needed for creating accurate construction estimates. While this course introduces some advanced concepts, it is intended as an introductory primer for beginning estimators.

You will learn the methods and processes for formulating estimates, broadening your understanding of construction terminology, blueprint reading, specifications, and estimating procedures. Construction Estimating will guide you through all aspects of pricing a project, from site work to project closeout, including how to quantify overhead and operating expenses. You will also gain insight into bidding processes, document management systems, and various computer applications used in estimating.

The class meets online once each week using a real-time lecture/discussion/Q&A format. Students also complete self-paced reading assignments throughout the week.
